La vidéo montre comment démarrer un ordinateur sur la clé USB antivirus de l’association Montpel’libre. La clé USB bootable antivirus est construite sur Ubuntu 10.4 en français. Elle contient l’antivirus clamav avec son interface graphique, le paquet testdisk qui analyse les disques dures à la recherche de partitions effacées ou endommagées. Testdisk recherche un « index » permettant de retrouver une partition formatée à tort. Ayant retrouvé cet index, il reconstitue le système de fichiers. Testdisk est fourni avec Photorec, un outil permettant d’analyser une partition pour retrouver des fichiers effacés. La clé USB contient aussi foremost qui donne la possibilité de récupérer simplement des fichiers qui ont été effacés. En cas d’une simple récupération de données, il suffit de brancher un disque dure externe après avoir démarré sur la clé USB antivirus. La commande dd est vivement conseillée car elle permet de faire des sauvegardes bit à bit même si cela semble beaucoup plus long. Clam Antivirus “ClamAV” is an Open Source antivirus program and scanner that has been around for years for UNIX & Linux based systems . I just wanted to let Windows users know that it’s also available for them ! You can download a 32 bit and a 64 bit version of ClamAV from right here ^_- www.clamav.net Just click on the light blue “DOWNLOAD” botton ! Linux and UNIX users SHOULD install ClamAV also ! Many of us in the Windows server maintenance field know how expensive server software can be.  In many ways server software is like restaurant equipment, if you slap the “restaurant grade” label to a standard refrigerator the price goes up 300%. The same thing happens when you need “server backup” or other “server” software.  Server backup software costs hundreds while personal computer backup software is only priced in the to range.  Luckily there are FREE alternatives out there.
 
ClamWin is an open source program designed to work on Microsoft Windows operating systems.  ClamWin will run on Windows 98/ME/2000/xp and 2003 versions.  ClamWin is based on the open source ClamAV engine but with a graphical interface to make it much more user friendly.  The only downside to using ClamWin is that it does not offer any real-time protection. In other words, it does not scan your system unless you ask it to.  If you have less critical systems in your server room like a backup DNS or DHCP server then this could be a possible solution for you.  As long as you schedule a scan manually as often as you feel it is needed, this could save you some bucks the next time your antivirus renewal comes up.  Dont let this scare you too much.  The big boys like Norton and McAfee dont score very well in independent trials for finding viruses passively.  Check my site below for a link to a some good reviews of AV software.
 
I would not recommend ClamWin for a critical production server.  You don’t want to risk critical systems to an antivirus solution that doesn’t scan real-time.  For all those other servers and all those older computers that are not used to access the internet (you know, the ones that are sitting in the basement, used by someone just to open that 10 year old application that no one will spend the money to upgrade), ClamWin could be the solution to save you a few licenses the next time you renew your AV software.
